I. Introduction

In this unit, kindergarten students learn that it is okay—and important—to say what they like about artwork. They practice looking carefully at pictures and using simple criteria like color, neatness, and favorite part to share opinions. Students start with their own artwork and then respond to classmates’ work, focusing on kind, positive comments. By the end of the unit, they can name a favorite part of an artwork and explain why they like it in simple words.
