Total Unit Duration: 5 sessions (one week), 45–60 minutes per session


I. Introduction

This week students participate in a shared research project. As a class (and in small groups), they will plan wonder questions, gather information from books and teacher-curated web pages, and take simple notes using pictures, labels, and dictated words. With guidance, they will help produce a class page/slide that teaches others about the topic.


II. Objectives and Standards

Learning Objectives — Students will be able to…

  1. Plan and ask research questions with peers about a shared topic (W.K.7).
  2. Gather information from a book page and a teacher-curated web page; record simple notes/drawings (W.K.8).
  3. Help produce and share a class slide/poster using teacher-led digital tools (W.K.6).
