Total Unit Duration: 2 core sessions + 2 optional sessions (1–2 weeks), 20–30 minutes per session

I. Introduction

Students continue building Kindergarten PE confidence by revisiting important ball skills they have practiced throughout the year. At this stage, students benefit from repeated chances to roll, toss, catch, and kick in familiar activities that feel fun, active, and manageable. This unit uses toss and catch practice as a warm-up and then moves into playful ball skill stations where students rotate through different object-control challenges. The goal is to help students strengthen their beginning ball skills, feel more successful with equipment, and enjoy practicing several movement patterns in one lesson.

Essential Questions

  • How can I use different ball skills in PE?
