I. Introduction

PreK students continue building movement confidence by learning that PE can include music, rhythm, and expressive movement as well as games and skill practice. At this age, children benefit from simple dance routines, repeated rhythm patterns, and playful music cues that help them move with joy and confidence. This unit uses clap and step to music as the warm-up and then moves into simple follow-along dance routines where children clap, step, freeze, turn, and move to steady beats. The goal is to help children enjoy movement, respond to rhythm, and feel excited about using their bodies in expressive ways.
