I. Introduction

PreK students continue building movement confidence by learning that PE can include different kinds of activities and that it is okay to notice which ones feel the most fun. At this age, children benefit from playful choice-based experiences that let them revisit familiar movement patterns while also practicing simple decision-making. This unit uses follow-the-leader movement as the warm-up and then moves into choice stations where children explore several preferred activities such as jumping, ball play, movement paths, and dance/freeze play. The goal is to help children identify enjoyable activities, participate happily in physical play, and begin expressing what kinds of movement they like best.
