Total Unit Duration: 2 core sessions + 2 optional sessions (1–2 weeks), 20–30 minutes per session
I. Introduction
PreK students continue building movement confidence by learning how to connect more than one action into a simple sequence. At this age, children benefit from active games that feel playful while also helping them listen, stop, and control their bodies during movement. This unit uses light jogging and jumping jacks as a warm-up and then moves into Freeze Dance, where children run or jump while music plays and freeze when it stops. The goal is to help children combine movements in fun ways, respond to simple directions, and feel successful during active play.
