I. Introduction
This unit helps Grade 1 students begin using audio and digital library tools in thoughtful, age-appropriate ways. Many school libraries now blend print materials with listening centers, digital read-alouds, safe informational media, and other introductory technology experiences. In this unit, students learn that using digital tools in the library is not just about pressing buttons—it also includes safe handling, careful listening, volume control, respectful sharing, and meaningful response. Through guided practice with headphones, audio stories, and simple digital sources, students build confidence with new formats while learning how to participate responsibly in a shared library environment.
