I. Introduction

Students begin learning that PE is not only about individual movement. It is also about how people work together in a group. In Grade 1, small-group teamwork means listening to directions, following rules, sharing space, encouraging classmates, and helping a team complete a game goal. This unit uses a fun group circle jogging warm-up and a playful Builders & Bulldozers game to help students practice teamwork, safe movement, and respectful game behavior. The goal is to help students feel the excitement of team play while learning that good teamwork includes listening, taking turns, staying safe, and treating others kindly.
