I. Introduction

This unit helps Grade 3 students strengthen their understanding that library responsibility goes beyond simply following rules. Students are learning to become more independent, and part of that growth means taking care of books, tools, and shared spaces in ways that help everyone learn. The librarian teaches students how to handle books carefully, return materials to the proper place, use devices and headphones responsibly, and leave work areas ready for the next person. The unit emphasizes that when students care for the library well, they help create a calm, organized, and welcoming space for the whole community.
