Grade Level: K
Subject Area: Library (Digital Listening • Technology Responsibility • Story Response)
Total Unit Duration: 1–3 weeks, 50–60 minutes per session
I. Introduction
This unit helps Kindergarten students use technology as a meaningful part of library learning. In a real elementary library special, listening centers or digital story tools often function as one station within a rotation rather than a full-class activity every time. Students learn how to use headphones carefully, manage cords or devices safely, listen to a story with attention, and respond afterward in a simple way. The librarian emphasizes that technology is not just for play; it can help students hear stories, view illustrations, build listening stamina, and share what they understood.
Essential Questions
- How can I listen to a story with technology safely and respectfully?
- How do I use headphones, devices, and shared materials responsibly?
